Provision of information in accordance with the European SFDR regulation
SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation) is a regulation of the European Parliament and Council (EU) 2019/2088 of November 27, 2019, on sustainability-related disclosures in the financial services sector (hereinafter referred to as the “Regulation”). It has been applicable since March 10, 2021.
The aim of the regulation is to ensure mandatory standardized disclosures by selected financial market participants on the integration of ESG risks, consideration of adverse impacts on sustainability factors, and other sustainability-related information in the financial services sector. This is intended to prevent greenwashing and enable end investors to make informed assessments of investment opportunities from a sustainability perspective. Greenwashing generally refers to gaining an unfair competitive advantage by recommending a financial instrument as environmentally sustainable when, in fact, it does not meet the basic legal standards for sustainability.
