May Art Again Be a Gift in 2022

Once more this year, Tatra banka is making a gift for all of us of a collection of works by five of Slovakia’s artists to the Slovak National Gallery.
Last year, Tatra banka laid the foundation for a new tradition of gift-giving to society. It donated Time Capsule, an extraordinary work by Roman Ondak, –to the collection of the Slovak National Gallery, making it available to the general public. This year we also want to follow through on our commitment to a mindful approach #fortheblueplanet, sustainability principles and lasting values to be left to upcoming generations. Therefore, we are again giving the SNG a gift for all of society. This time it is works by five Slovak artists.
“Art is a gift. It gives us strength and connects us, even in difficult times. We believe these activities only make sense when carried out long-term and consistently. This time, we have decided to donate to the SNG a collection of works by five of Slovakia’s artists. Each one of them offers a very original take on art,” stated Michal Liday, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Tatra banka.
“One of the benefits of modern societies is the decision to take great care with art collections and enable everyone to come into contact with art and get something out of it. Assistance with this mission from a fair partner like Tatra banka is not charity, but rather philanthropy, in other words an effort at making the world better. We believe the world is better with art, and the works that say something about us, and the society that created them and lived with them, must be preserved,” noted SNG General Director Alexandra Kusá.
May all of 2022 be a gift for you!
