Smishing attack

| 17.11.2022

Dear clients,

we would like to inform you that we have noticed a fraudulent act of the so-called smishing.
Smishing is a method of obtaining sensitive bank information via SMS message. The attacker's goal is to create a sense of trust in his victim, for which he also uses a technical solution that allows him to use the name of the bank when contacting clients.
Vishing is a method of obtaining sensitive bank information through a phone call. The attacker's goal is to create a sense of trust and urgency in his victim.

It can thus be displayed on the mobile phone screen as the sender of the Tatra banka message, while the sender is a fraud.

Important notice:

The bank never requests sensitive personal and banking information via sms and the attached line.

Never share this sensitive information with a third party, even if it appears to be a bank:

  • payment card number, CVV code and validity from the payment card,
  • client's PID together with the password to Internet banking,
  • codes from Card and reader for solving various non-standard situations.

In the event that you encounter this type of fraud, please contact us at the e-mail address [email protected] or contact DIALOG Live immediately.

Thank you for your caution.

Yours sincerely

Tatra banka
